Just signed up, not even had a look about yet. From the west coast of Ireland. Have a few bike projects either on the go or up coming, from what is known over here as a high nelly, have two triumph Tenerifes, a few other odds. And ends, and then the reason I joined. My second ever bike, still remember who it was bought of, when I was about ten-ish? Or thirty years ago... Damn. My bomber. I had it a few years before "selling" it to my grandmother! Who used it for about ten years. My grand parents died a couple of years back and I bought the house, with my little bomber hanging from the rafters in the shed. It's time to be reborn is neigh, well could take awhile, as others ahead of it in the to-do list. But time to start planning, and gathering parts etc. And from here ideas and advice. that's my long into. hi all

I will do, but will take a little time, as everything does. Have the house and "workshop" ;-) up in mayo, but currently living in Galway. Should be up there thurday evening For physio ( hurt my back a few weeks ago, it's nearly better at this stage, but need a few more sessions yet) depending on how I feel I.e. how comfortable I am (deep tissue massage on scyatic nerve, if such a weird sensation) I will see if I can get some pics. Mine is a British bomber, were there any of these made over here? Bike has been some what broken down, but you guys know what your looking at.

Photos have been taken, will go through them over the weekend and see what's good to upload. In my mind the bike was in great condition, but pulled it out last night and my memory cheated me. It's not bad though. You will all get a look shortly though.

I know this is still not correct, but for now it will do. On the phone but will boot up the pc later on. as you can see, fairly sure I can use the saddlecas it is! To anyone that refurbished one, did you trace a pattern of the leather shape you used. Also some input on the foam shape and thickness as well? wheels not too bad, tyres are withered, and bald top decal not so good

Hi again. Just noticed your comments about the seat casing & refurbishing it. iirc you've read thru my thread but the pics etc of the seat are at June 24 on this page page with seat on it I think you have the exact same one as me and I'm in the middle of re-trimming mine so I can take measurements for you for the foam shape. Graham.

Graham,
That would be great, take as many pics and measurements you can. I will draw them all up (Am a draughtsman) will make it available here as a pdf, it will surely help me, and might be of great assistance to others. Would be great if I could get the drawings accurate enough to be able use it as a template. Print out, trace it, sew it, job done.
Did you get message from kebab? He seems to be selling the nos bike he just bought...

No problem lostboyirl . I'll measure and post up details tomorrow. I didn't get any message from kebab tho. Tbh I wasn't expecting one. Has he bought the NOS from raleighmad and now wanting to sell it? It's a lovely bike but I'm sticking with the free one I ride daily

Am guessing so, know he had messaged Raleighmad about his, now he has to sell, which is a shame for him as it did look like a great bike. Oh well someone else will get a cracker of a bike. have a wanted ad up on a few sites over here but sure I won't get anything, would be great to find a parts bike. But who knows, fingers crossed! currently have way too many project bikes, five for me to work on, and a sixth sent off for a pro to work on. Collecting it on Saturday. Xcited about that, none are bombers I should clarify!

Hi again. Here are the pics and measurements as promised. Slight problem is that there really isn't much to report. Basically there is about 2cm thickness of foam that covers to top of the seat (following the shape of the seat with no significant overlap) then there is another piece of foam at the back to create the hump. The height of the hump, measured from the bottom edge of the nylon seat-base is 6.5cm and the hump/foam protrudes beyond the rear of the seat-base by approx 1cm 1st layer of foam approx 2 cm thick covers top shape of seat-base width of foam on nose 2nd piece of foam takes overall height at rear to approx 6.5cmfoam sticks out this much at rearBasically since you have an original seat-base you cant really get it wrong if you go for 2cm foam thickness over the whole seat then raise the back to 6.5cm but am thinking with more detailed measurements (which I can provide) one could make any (smaller) seat into a Bomber-shaped replica. Lastly. This for the KSM/Kashimax seat. Afaik some early Bombers had a similar Taihei base

Foxy, will have a good go thru this shortly, it's looking good though, would you have the same again for the leather template your using?. I will do my best to make a decent template for to share here. That said currently sitting in a dark room drinking whiskey and lstening to 'i see a darkness' by Bonnie Prince Billy, so excuse a reply at this late and kinda drunken hour.
