sounds like a really intersting project, and i think you can get superchroming done over in the states- i was looking at trying to find someone to do a translucent powdercoat over chrome and thats the only hits i could get on google!
and just to clarify, they are called camelback frames over here too!
obviously it would never be a 100% replica, as the back end of the frame is a little different, but it sounds like an interesting project
the only snag i can see is getting the chubby tyres to fit in the frame without mods.
welcome in anyway!

Great info on the seats.
How much do you think shipping would be to the US zip code 28209 for the frame with the stripped threads?
Thanks,
Robert

Hi bluwebco. I've bought loads of stuff from the USA and the shipping isn't as bad as you'd expect. I'll weigh the frame and try to get a rough price on how much it would cost.
I once got the whole front end of a Yamaha 200 sent here and iirc the price was $168

I might be persuaded to part with my spare frame. It looks like I'm unlikely to be able to do anything with it for a good while (if ever). I paid £40 for it, and if I got that back I'd be happy. Would you like me to sort some pictures and a shipping quote? It needs paint as it's been badly done in blue and white.
Glen.

That's quite a nice seat Mike. Much nicer than a lot of the seats that find their way onto Bombers anyway

Even if the paintjob isn't good it is a smaller problem than a stripped BB shell. My Bomber is sitting in the hall just now looking purposefull. So sad to think it's effectively scrap cos of some really thin lines of metal

Anyway. Back to Robert from NC, or bluwebco.
I weighed a completely bare Bomber frame tonight.
I don't know how accurate/consistent my Mother's digital bathroom-scales are but the frame seems to be about 6lbs.
With cardboard etc I reckon the parcel could come in under 10lbs.
Incidentally a Bomber wheel, with tyre, seems to be about 7lbs
