Was that the one for sale on Gumtree recently for £150? Looks good. That's the 1. Called the seller up on Monday & he emailed me some pics. I called him back within 10 mins & said OK. Was riding it round Exeter at 9.45am the following day.

Striped down the 3 speed Sturmey Archer hub, cleaned & re-assembled. (well my mate did & replaced some parts which were showing signs of wear). It now ticks like a Swiss watch ! Replaced the pedals with original trap ones.(thanks 2 my mate again) Added some period lights & R nut.( supplied by my mate) Adjusted the brakes.(again, my mate) Replaced the side stand with a centre stand.(I did that bit) Just a general clean up with the tyres needed now. Will do Mike. It was Oldboy who gave me help & advice on the stand. Less than £10 delivered !
Went 4 a wobble earlier down 2 pub earlier. No beer, just coke ;0( It turned a few heads whilst wobbling along & some stopped 2 look at it chained up outside the boozah.
I love these bikes !

Hopefully, here are some pics of it. Lowered & raised. Not strong enough to sit on the bike when lowered like a motorbike centre stand. Attachments:

All credit goes to Oldboy for anything to do with the stand. They are marketed as seconds. The one I received was in its original halfords branded packaging & I could not find anything wrong with it to indicate it being a second.

anyone remember who made this type ? remember them in the 80s on all sorts, think i even had one on my burner which used to twang when i landed off jumps. thinking maybe it was generic bike shop thing, had gradings along the end to hacksaw off to length to suit your bikes height
